The largest Christmas-themed par is about to be set up on Algiers’ seafront promenade, with more than a dozen separate areas, including a tent where it will even snow, thanks to imported Finnish technology. The park, which covers an area of about 70,000 square metres, will open its doors from November 29 to January 12.

The new Christmas amusement park was announced in January. There were still few details about the project dedicated to the magic of Santa’s village. With the website online today, it is possible to view the map of Europe’s largest Christmas theme park, which will open on November 29th and will feature more than a dozen different areas, from the harmony stadium to the great arctic wheel. But the most eagerly awaited attraction is the Snow Guardian Palace, a dome with controlled weather conditions and the production of snow from nitrogen.
It is a space created using Finnish technology that produces snow and ice. This is a first since this technology has never been used before in Portugal. The aim of the management of Europe’s largest Christmas-themed park is to highlight the Arctic, a region affected by climate change, in order to increase people’s willingness to preserve and maintain this ecosystem.
In addition to the Snow Garden, where visitors will be able to confront sub-zero temperatures and admire ice sculptures, the Christmas capital will also have as its central element the Great Lake, where you will find a 40-metre high tree and its own lighting synchronised with other decorative elements. There will also be a skating rink, a merry-go-round, a market and plenty of space for themed shows and other entertainment. The Expresso dos Cinco Sentidos, a little train with eyes, nose and ears, will allow visitors to discover the four corners of Europe’s largest Christmas park in Algiers without having to walk too far.
Christmas Fun Park
The creators of the Christmas Park wanted to create an immersive experience and take visitors into the story of Laura, a Portuguese woman who dreamed of a Christmas in Portugal with lots of snow and ice and decided to talk to Santa Claus, who delegated this responsibility to the elves. The whole park follows the logic of this story, that’s why there is no portico at the entrance but a gate, where a passport is given for more immersion and to collect crystals, which at the end can be deposited in the tree of Infinite Time.
Christmas Fun Park
Among the entertainment, you will also find the Gourmet Elf Picnic, an area where you will find restaurants and entertainment such as singing. Be aware that you’ll find elves that have received official certification in Lapland, the land of Santa Claus. If you want activities for the younger ones, you can take the second train, which this time passes through the elven forest.
The park, which will be set up on the same site as the NOS Alive festival and Comic Con Portugal, represents an investment of around six million euros. The two main partners are the Casa do Marquês and Oeiras City Council.
The Park’s schedule will be as follows:
- Monday to Thursday from 12:00 to 11:00 p.m.
- Friday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 00:00 am
- Sundays from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm
The tickets, already on sale at Ticketline HERE, the prices are as follows:
- 20€ for children up to 12 years old and seniors
- 24€ for a normal entrance
- 88€ for two adults and two children
Please note that these prices are valid until 15 October 2019, after which they will increase. The different entrances to Europe’s largest Christmas park in Portugal will then be between €25 and €100.
